in India chai is the most actual authentic recipe in everyone’s home. here I am sharing one of the most popular Indian chai recipe is ilaichi chai/cardamom tea/ilaichi tea from scratch. Cardamom spice is the key to this simple chai tea.

                      in Indian usual way, chai recipe is rich milky, brewed it for a long time along with aromatic flavors.there are a lot of versions in chai/tea recipes. the classic ingredients of a basic chai recipe include tea powder/ tea leaves, sugar, milk & water.

 cardamom is the most known Indian spice to calm and refreshes your senses.

What you’ll need:ilaichi chai/cardamom tea/ilaichi tea

1 cup of water

1 1/2 cups whole milk

1 TB spoon sugar(1 to 2 TB spoons depends on your taste)

5green cardamom pods(add cardamom pods with seeds in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.)

3/4th tablespoon tea powder


In a medium teapot, add water let it boil for 2minutes on high flame, add tea powder, sugar, finely ground ilaichi powder here I am adding with pods and place on medium-high heat.  When pot comes to a boil, turn off heat, add tea and cardamom, gently stir and cover. Steep 5 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer and serve hot and refreshing                              ilaichi chai/cardamom tea/ilaichi tea

Makes 3 cups (about 2-3 serving).
